The death toll in the current Ebola outbreak is inching closer to 5000 as the World Health Organization has announced that the numbers have risen to 4,950.
This
was revealed by the WHO on Friday, November 7 and the body maintained
calls for more urgent measure to be put in place to stop the spread of
the virus.
A statement to that effect reads:
“Case
incidence is declining in some districts in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra
Leone, while steep rises persist in other districts.”
The
organization added further that it is critical to shore up defences in
countries neighbouring the three affected nations to prevent a further
spread of the disease.
The cases of the diseases have also risen to 13,241 in the latest figures which reflect the situation as at November 4.
